Elisha Enfield
Elisha is a landscape painter working in oils. Her practice explores the spectacle of fire in the landscape and its myriad interpretations.
Within her landscapes, Elisha draws on fire as a powerful representative of opposing forces, with its ability to consume, or transform. In recent paintings she has focussed on the divided history of burnings – from ancient funeral pyres, through witch hysteria, to modern day community celebration. Simple, joyful, yet macabre.
Elisha’s work has been selected for the Wells Art Contemporary, Jacksons Art Prize and Discerning Eye, at which she was awarded the Landscape Prize. She is the winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2022. Her work is held in the DE Collection, National Waterways Museum and private collections internationally.
